Upset, Disturbed, Lost, Loneliness, AImless, Anger, Confusion, Exhaustion accompanied me in the past few weeks. Not trying to insinuate anything, merely finding a channel to fa xie all that's bottled up. Do ignore me if u can.
Decision may have been made, pending for the appropriate conditions.
Feel that my blog knows me better than anyone else, even myself, cuz im at wits ends at times too.

Fading Away

Time is a killer. Things and memories fade away with time. Memories, feelings, interests, friendships, infatuations, anger, sorrows and even photos.
Hate to see people leave but that's just how life will be. If you have to leave for greener pastures, do go ahead! Will be happier than be sad. Fading follows leaving. When a friend leaves, so does the friendship that accompanies. Growing to accept this yet trying to ensure things remain status quo. It's a tough process but i'll make sure i try.

The starry glass bottle is broken. I wish i can do something about it to mend the cracks.

What a long break from blogger! Realised that the same goes to many of my dears during my past month MIA. I supposed their MIA has nothing got to do with my disappearance from town. Perhaps just so happened that they are busy too.

Well just came back from Suzhou, China last Thursday (in time for the long weekend). It will kinda sucks to work over the long weekend while your peers are enjoying. Well, not everyone will be enjoying but I still think I need a break. But anyway, the trip didn’t go too smooth towards the end and I must admit, I’m very much affected towards the close of the journey and that hiccups happened. Was it the vicious cycle that sparked off from the incident and resulted in a change of my mood and motivation? I do not wish to speculate further cuz I have just tidied up my emotions. Things have sort of settled as of now. But the job is still not quite done. Well, I pray for the best!

To begin with my Suzhou trip, apart from the unhappiness, the companion was superb. Glad to know more pals closer through this trip. Daz n me are the siao za bor, while Gwyn is the sensible n rational one though she can be insane too. Ms Dong is the slow-hot kind whom you need to take time to know better and she’s such a sweet gal, nvr fail to rem each and everyone’s fav food, even though she’s back in Shanghai. There’s also my roomie HF who suffered under my pillow fight every night. Haha… well, at the end of every day there has to be some release of stress right. She never fail to flood the toilet and needs me to pack her laptop into her luggage bag every morning. Nevertheless we still enjoyed each other’s stay. Really missed her lots during the few nights when she’s not around. It was quieter but her presence would have comforted me much. Despite all that, I’m glad that she has released herself and that a new beginning awaits her. Ger, good luck!

Only managed to squeeze two Sunday afternoons out for some breath-catching in the supposedly beautiful Suzhou. The first weekend was spent at Taihu courtesy of Ms Dong’s father who has local contact. So kind of him to bring us to his fren’s villa at Taihu and it was really beautiful and stunning! It was a 3 storey villa at a hilltop, equipped with soft lighting and lifts that bring you the house. Plasma tvs mounted at every level, personal gym at the top floor, guest rooms and bathrooms that resemble that of a 5-star hotel and updated KTV system at the second floor. C’mon, I would have thought I’m on a reality tv program but I wasn’t! Owner of this villa puts on no airs at all and one look at the deco of the office tells that he’s a welfare person beautified with tennis courts and comfortable exercise grounds for the benefits of the employees. Courtesy of this Mr Nice Boss, we sang ktv thru the night FOC and the song list wasn’t hand written nor hand keyed kind. But fully computerized with the latest songs.. of cuz u cant expect those released last week to appear there la.. even K box may not be as updated la… Bet he has bought the license to own them personally! Nearly fainted!

That was the first weekend out. Following Sunday was spent at 观前街 one of the shopping street in Suzhou. Couldn’t really buy much stuffs like clothes though I bought a skirt that cost about S$70+. Shopping mood while overseas is definitely different. Anyway rationalized that I can hardly spend money over the following few weeks so spending that much is reasonable. Hence suggest leave on further consideration. Haha.. I must be MUD (MAD).

Anyway I realized Suzhou plastic packaging for takeaway food is quite low quality. We had hard time holding on to the ramen we packed back to hotel. In the end spilled more than half of the gravy and soup.

Got to see the stark contrast of rich-poor gap over there and it really saddens me. There were times that drove me tears. Looking at the food that they eat everyday – some salted and simple dishes with lots of rice and the dishes can run the same for 7 days a week. A Singapore kind can hardly take such life lor! Singapore kids are too pampered and spoilt by choices. Seems like I always have the same sentiments each time I visited China.

Something new to Suzhou – the locals are very family-oriented. Their family bond is so strong that u see the smile lit upon them whenever you ask about their kids. And they get very upset whenever we skip meals. To them, having regular meals is a must cuz health to them is utmost important. Somehow they are very contented with their life though we kids from the bustling city can hardly fathom the reason. Though slightly laid back, their life is well-routined, contented and built by strong family ties. One amazing thing is that schools in Suzhou have this system of getting parents to update progress of child's developments at home while teachers will do their part too on a regular basis like once a month. Such communication was done through the similar progress report here. Personally find this such an excellent way of getting the parents and the school together to help kids develop, learn and grow. Parents will be informed of what their kids are like in school and the parents will be informed of pupils' behaviour at home. Any inconsistency can be solved promptly, hence prevent any deviation from occurring. Isn't this an effective wat? Unlike here, progresss report is done once in a semester or perhaps once every term and that communication is a one-way traffic such that the teacher complain or praise the kid and parents stand no chance of agreeing or objecting. Meet-the-parent session was only carried out once every 6mths and each session only lasted about 15min or at most 30min. Imagine 6mths worth of progress is summarised in 15-30min, how detailed and constructive can this session be? Most likely the teachers will have too many students to attend to and give a brief summary of behavior to the parents. Doubt it will be very helpful but that's just how the busy society has to work. Parents may not have the time to monitor kids' progress or even take a detailed look at the progress report for parents who hardly see their children.

What a big contrast from us! Arent we human guilty of causing the disruption to the once structure life that we used to have donkey years ago? It’s a vicious cycle cuz we are always running after time and wealth.

Gained a lot through this trip. Touched by their warmth and their honesty. Im glad I was there to learn, be it the bad or good lessons, they are still lessons worth remembering
.

Our daily meals come from this New Island Cafe which is similar to Starbucks

Yummy...
