Happy Happy Day! Who says Friday the 13 must be a black Friday plagued by misfortune! Well, at least till now, having 1.5hrs more to go, I hope nothing will go wrong *fingers crossed*
Celebrated Dr Loke’s bday today! Started off with trying to find a florist to get him a rose. Haha big joke of the day! Anyway, nvr tried giving flower to a guy before. Gotta the feeling today! Haha.. weird! Even Dar feels weird. Tat goes to show that flowers are meant for the gers and they well-deserved them! Guys, dun complain. V-day is not the only day gers deserved flowers! Went on to prepare for magic show props! Not part of the bday celebration though.
Proceeded to Sun and Moon at Chijmes for lunch and parking is blarrrdy ex! SGD5.50 for 1.5hrs *faint* Had my salmon sashimi there! Prolly cuz I was there just 2 weeks ago and 3 times in 5 months, kinda gotten sick of food there oredi. Shall avoid S&M for rest of the year. But the salmon is still fresh @ Chijmes. Decor wise similar to that in Wheelock, they like to play with lighting and cushion seats is there theme I guess. Haha. Much smaller though. Anyway still enjoyed the salmon and not others. Could tell from the pathetic amount I ate, as compared to my usual huge appetite. By the time, lunch ended, so had the rain. Poor Ping, not sure if she got drenched anot cuz she came to Chijmes to get the earrings materials from me. Hopefully she’s alrite.
Was almost 3plus when lunch ended and almost time to head down to NUH for some volunteering work. It’s actually part of Dar’s Rotaract project since it falls on this auspicious day, I tagged along too! Had fun manx! Job is to play with the kids who are hospitalized and keep them entertained. Program for this week is to perform magic tricks and so here’s how the prep work earlier came to place. At first, this Winnie Wong kids was rather resistant to our trick but as we proceeded to the 2nd trick with more of her involvement, light began to shed in the dull ward.
Gradually with the help of Head Nurse, we gathered some kids to watch show. End up there were 3-4 kids there. According to Dar this is pretty normal attendance so I was not so demoralized. Playing with the kids releases me from the hassle and buzzle of working life and it feels good to be bumping around without having to think of work, about excel spreadsheets and test of controls, yet doing some meaningful voluntary work. Kids are the cure to problems! Nonono im not thinking of having kids now but just enjoyed their companion.
A little girl gave me 2 stickers at end of session. And i sahsayed round the hospital and my neighbourhood with them looking like tattoos on my arms. Haha.. i didnt do it purposely la.. forgotto take them down.

She can be quite problematic and uncontrollable sometimes, yet I can feel her joy when she knows how her little gifts are being appreciated. Arent they the most innocent souls in the complicated world?! At tender age of 10 and below, they know how to appreciate kindness and love showered on them. Somehow human deteriorated along the growing up stage. Reminds me of a chinese proverb 人之处性本善 (basically means that humans are kind by nature and mind i say "by nature"; this proverb has continuation but this particular sentence brings out wat i trying to mean) .
Got kinda tired and hungry after that. So home sweet home oredi!
Love today! Love Dar! More volunteering session with kids when time permits! Yayyyy And more pics when Dr. Loke has time to give me the pics! Dr. Loke, if u r reading this, can u PLSSSSSS give me quick! very longggg oredi lehhhhh!!!
